You know what I loved about the Destiel part? That was legitimate queer representation.

Yes, they were side characters used to illustrate something. But they weren’t a punchline or a misdirection. And they weren’t hypersexual or over-the-top in any way. They were shown cuddling and holding hands and comforting each other’s pre-show nerves.

I think that was a little nod at Destiel being possible. THAT’S what Destiel could be. A legitimate relationship between two people who happen to be the same sex (and I guess gender, although I’m not totally convinced that Cas actually identifies with gender at all).

It’s awesome that Supernatural is learning about serious queer representation, and I think they’re lending credence to Destiel in the process.

you know, i actually have a weird sense of…peace (?) after this episode. like before, jensen would be pretty adamantly dismissive of the whole shipping thing. granted, i don’t think that his stance on who he thinks dean is is any less rigid (which hey, i’m glad he’s so concerned with staying true to his character; that devotion is part of why we love dean so much), but idk. it seems like now, in spite of that, he’s starting to realize, “okay, i got my idea, you got yours, but just because it’s different doesn’t mean it’s any less important.” after his meeting with carver, he’s shown that he’s willing to listen if things are explained in a manner that makes sense to him, and that’s huge. i think this is the first time where i feel like maybe he’s actually starting to get it, even if he doesn’t agree. which is okay. because at the end of the day, it’s not just one perspective that matters. it’s all of them.

Does anyone else in the fargo/wrenchers fandom sometimes forget that Wrench and Numbers are real characters that were on TV and they aren’t abstract concepts in our collective imaginations of headcanons and fanfictions? Because like 99% of the wrenchers fandom is stuff that we made up and sometimes I totally forget that there even is a canon, and a gifset of them pops up on my dash and I’m like “oh yeah the murder husbands are from Fargo FX they’re not something we just made up and talk about all the time for no reason.”

is that weird? am I crazy? >___>
