After a long three year hiatus, Fall Out Boy is back. If you know anything about me at all, you know that me and Fall Out Boy go way back. If not, well now you do. In fact, in 7th grade, their merchandise was all I used to wear, which you probably know. I used to know almost everything about every member of the band. I had all their lyrics memorized. Their album booklets were my Bible. I saw them three times, and each time, it was magical.

It’s said that the music you listen to when you’re 14-16 years old has the most profound effect on you. It’s when you start to define your own art tastes, music tastes, movie tastes. In my case, it was them, and I took it and ran with it. Their music not only made me happy in a time where I wasn’t my happiest, but they helped shape the person I became.

I stuck with them through their hiatus. I supported their side-projects and prepared for the moment when they came off hiatus, but in all honesty, nothing could have prepared me for it.

This time around, I hope I get to meet them and tell them the effect they had on my life.

To you, they’re just a band. But to me, they saved my life. They are my heroes.
