So happy about this dialogue it hurts. Can you imagine Sherlock having gone through life probably having no friends at all and now finally not only does he have a friend (who will put up with his incredibly igotistical, self centred and emotionally manipulative behaviour) but someone who considers him his ‘best friend’ a man who has all the best qualities a man could have and he’s chosen Sherlock. It’s beautiful.

Accurate post is accurate.

spookydatrump

Reminds me of the time a lady told me whip doesn’t melt. Or a guy yelled at me for not understanding him/hearing him because he kept talking on the phone

Lame

For those in retail.

I worked in a Lil Caesars and a woman came in and wanted a sausage pizza with no sausage, but got mad when she was given a cheese pizza.

So when I worked at fitting room in Old Navy, a woman told me that a medium top was too small, and that the large top was too large. So she asked me to find her an “x-medium”. Old Navy carries x-small, small, medium, large, x-large, 1x, 2x and 3x. There is no “x-medium”. But she insisted, so I went and found her an “x-medium” (which was just a medium in a different color but the same top, same make, same EVERYTHING) and she goes very happily, “THIS! THIS FITS ME PERFECTLY! THANK YOU SO MUCH! See, you can do anything you can set your mind to!”

I’m a waitress at a big fancy resort, and once a woman asked me for a diet water and when I told her there was no such thing she demanded to see my manager (who then also promptly told her there was no such thing and brought her regular water).
Another occasion of stupidity occurred when a woman had been brought a steak cooked too much for her liking. I offered to take it back and bring her out a new one, cooked a little less, and she said “NO this one’s fine I just want you to cook THIS one a little less.” I then had to get the chef and have him explain why you can’t UNCOOK a steak.

When I was working at dunkin donuts there was this woman in the drive-thru who asked for a lightly toasted croissant and then started complaining that the croissant was warm. And wanted her money back, so she gave me the croissant back and I gave her the money and then she tells me “now i want my new croissant” she wanted a new one for free and as she was screaming at me this guy in a biker gang covered in tattoos leans over the counter in the store and yells “ma’am let me just tell you what we’re all thinking. fuck off, you stupid cunt.” I couldn’t stop laughing and she drove away in anger.

Most of the people like in the stories above know that they’re being totally irrational, but also know that if they complain enough they’ll most likely get something free or discounted. So really most of the the nonsensical fucks are actually just cheap fucks with no shame or respect for people.

failedhellos

That last bit of commentary though.

I work at Lifetouch Portraits and this one customer sent this email where she said I did all these things I didn’t do and over exaggerated everything and my boss straight up told me that the customer was butthurt that she couldn’t combine her groupon with forty other coupons (which is a Groupon policy, not ours) so she took it out on me in hopes that our company would give her like $150 worth of free stuff. And then she laughed and said “sucks for her!”.

Moral of the story: I just ignore assholes like this because I know they just want free shit and they don’t even care if I get in trouble, because god for fucking bid they actually spend money on something.

I am female. I was born that way. I have had those feelings, those longings, all of my life. It is not unnatural. I am not sick because I feel this way. I do not need to be helped. I do not need to be cured. What I need, and what all of those who are like me need, is your understanding. And your compassion. We have not injured you in any way. And yet we are scorned and attacked. And all because we are different. What we do is no different from what you do. We talk, and laugh. We complain about work. And we wonder about growing old. We talk about our families, and we worry about the future. And we cry with each other when things seem hopeless. All of the loving things that you do with each other, that is what we do. And for that, we are called misfits, and deviants, and criminals. What right do you have to punish us? What right do you have to change us? What makes you think you can dictate how people love each other?

Star Trek: The Next Generation, Season 5, Episode 17: The Outcast

damn star trek. damn.

(via beverly-soong)

For context:
The character who is talking is a character who belongs to a race that has no gender. Or… at least is “supposed” to have no gender. She however, does. She feels female.
When she gives this speech she is in front of a court who plans to send her to psychotherapy to “fix” her as they do with other “deviants” who have decided they have gender in her society.

This episode is one of the most important and moving episodes of Star Trek I have ever watched.

(via nightvaletrekkieamazon)

This is one of the episodes we watched in the Star Trek, Law and Ethics class I took my last semester of college and like, half the class didn’t get it was an obvious allegory for LGBT people. They were like “but how is it gay? She identifies as female and is in a relationship with Riker” and the other half is like “IT’S A METAPHOR OMG”
