I find it funny that anyone is surprised or outraged by this fan reaction. We have to put up with incessant heteronormativity especially when the characters have such incredible chemistry we’re gonna be pissed about it. We’re gonna chuck a fit about it. We’ll probably hate the character. Live with it.

I would like to reiterate however - hate mail, messages etc to the actress or misha or whatever is stupid and wrong. Even sending hate mail to the writers, I suppose, is bad. It’s their world. They know how we feel about it. If they want to go on messing with our emotions and ignoring amazing possibilities for the hell of it then fine. A relationship like the one we want would be easy to handle badly anyway so maybe they’re saving us from ourselves.

Whatever. If peeps wanna hate the situation/hate the character, then let them hate and just stay the hell out of their way if you don’t agree.

Libs may sell $23b HECS debt

The Libs are considering a proposal to sell our HECs debt to private companies. While this move will improve the Budget bottom line by $23 billion it also means it follows the path of America where education loans are in the hands of private companies who will not have standardised interest rate loans. People who cant afford to pay their uni fees straight up (the poor and the middle class) will be straddled with high levels of debt before they have even left the uni system. If you want to crush social mobility, push thousands away from higher education and widen the income inequality gap like the US did, this is the way to go.
