The Last of Us Review *spoiler-ish*

Just finished the video game The Last of Us on PS3. Slightly spoiler-esq review ahead (won’t really ruin it for you if your playing it but mentions how I felt about the games ending without details). 

The Last of Us is a truly epic game on so many levels. I actually feel bad for people that don’t game because this beautiful/intricate/morally conflicted/heartfelt/scary as hell game is the complete package. It’s a lot like The Walking Dead with two stunningly brilliant leads - a broken man in a post zombie apocalypse world and a gritty 14 year old girl who is equal parts innocent and ruthless. The characters are beautifully acted by their extremely talented animators and so many times the characters show don’t tell what they’re thinking/ what they plan to do. It makes you debate the actions you take in the game, contains themes which leave you reeling (all handled carefully and thoughtfully) and the ending which at first doesn’t impact hard later leaves you debating the ramifications for hours. This is the best game I have played in years. If you rarely pick up a controller pick it up for this. It is EPIC.

I REALLY like this game and this character. She is a very likeable, spunky, strong female character and I just think that her badassery will flourish in the apocalypse. I also love that she enjoys telling jokes in the midst of a very depressing world.  There is nothing to hate about her.

Ellie belongs to Naughty Dog and such.
