I made a nice fall out boy / folie à deux sweatshirt for the concert I’m going to on 29 august!

the bears on the front are from http://www.lukechueh.com/illustration/falloutboy.html (aka the album cover for folie à deux)

the design on the back was one I made, inspired by ‘what a catch, donnie’ which is a song on the album that I like a lot.

both designs are hand-stenciled and hand-painted. I need to touch up some things, especially on the back. I did attempt an ombre-ish darker red dye similar to the original artwork, but most of it washed out.

the majority of the pins on there are ones that I designed and had made. there’s also one of my ‘sugar we’re going down’ antler necklaces; I think I’m going to wear it. there are also seven studs in each shoulder.

Matt Doust 1984 - 2013.

Matt Doust, a brilliantly talented artist, passed away last night at the age of 29.  His large scale portraits displayed an ability far beyond most of his contemporaries and he had a supernatural knack for capturing the light and beauty of his subjects.  I considered him to be one of the best artists at his subject matter and style for his generation.  Born in Santa Monica, California he was raised in Perth, Australia having just moved back to the United States in 2011.  He was named as an Archibald Prize finalist in 2011, Australia’s most prestigious portraiture prize.  Doust suffered from epilepsy and died after a seizure last night.  Matt Doust was represented by Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California.

I remember looking at Pete and Patrick and telling Pete, “You’re the luckiest guy in the world because you found this guy.” Patrick laughed. Then I turned to Patrick and said the same thing to him. They fit together so perfectly. Pete listens to electronic music and pop. He DJs. Patrick likes old soul and classic R&B. The fact that Patrick found this guy with this vision; Pete had everything for the band laid out in his mind. And the fact that Pete found a guy who can sing like that and take his lyrics and work with them - which is an art unto itself. It’s really the combination of those two that really creates the sound and the songs. They’re just really lucky they found each other.
