scenes where lalo and nacho are looking at the other are so fun because with lalo it's like full clown face visibly biting his lip looking at nacho maybe slobbering a little too and that's just standard behavior for him. meanwhile lalo praises nacho and i have to use 5 magnifying glasses on top of eachother counting pixels to then be like did you guys see that. his mouth curved 3 pixels upwards after lalo's comment. he's about to fuck him stupid

But no, then Lalo leans back in, and kisses him again. Then it’s his blood in Lalo’s mouth, and damn blood all over both their hands; and Lalo doesn’t see him as he really is, but this is probably as close as anyone could get and still want him.

I defos got a little lost in the sauce with this one. Honestly when I first got this idea I just wanted to draw Nacho looking fully extra with tats and fashion just decked out to the maximum. A hard gangster. Then @silvayme was like, and I’m paraphrasing a little here, ‘this is after Nacho has become a full Salamanca’ and I was like CANON 1000% ACCEPTED. So yeah may I introduce Ignacio Salamanca. Lalo not pictured salivating off screen.

Also worth noting I did sort of fuck up on having Nacho hold the gun in his left hand. He shoots with both hands in the series so I’m gonna say maybe he’s ambidextrous lolll. I’ll just have to remember for next time.

Lalo visits Albuquerque in 1990. He sees an 18 years old Nacho who barely looks up from the floor while Lalo scolds a 20 years old Tuco (“Ay, why would tío let a kid run this place?”) Varga is a pretty young thing, looks strong enough too, but there’s this glint in his eye when he finally raises his head to say something to Tuco. Lalo never forgets it.
In 1990, Lalo would call him mi ángel, mi cielito. Nacho would be blushing hard, and then going out of his way to look tough and impress Lalo. Lalo who would say “You still have a long way to go, cielito. But tell you what! Keep that up and who knows, maybe next time we meet I’ll call you by your name”.
Nacho in his early cartel years would already be smart, but terribly, terribly dumb if a handsome, powerful older man started paying attention to him. He hasn’t been shot yet, he hasn’t bled for the Salamancas. His dad is still none the wiser that he’s slipping dirty money into the cash register at the shop.
Nacho is 18, going on 19, and on a power high. His usually sharp senses would absolutely fail him.
