I’m a feminist guys
It’s happened. This is me holding my hand up and saying I officially understand now that feminism is about much needed equality between the sexes. It took me a while to really get my head around what it meant to be a feminist because for a long time I was under the impression that a large part of feminism was man hating (even with evidence to the contrary) but after settling into tumblr and being brought daily reminders of unbalance of pay, respect and social standing and opinion I now believe that being treated differently because of my gender isn’t something that should be brushed off as ‘oh that’s just what guys say/how they talk. Oh that’s just the way the world is’. I’m not exactly happy about it but sometimes there are unhappy truths in the world and regardless of how they make you feel it’s important to be standing on the right side of the fence not just sitting on it.

It’s like, ‘shut up? Why aren’t you happy? Why can’t you just be like every girl? Why do you always have to try to be a man?’ It’s not even trying, trying to be a man. It’s about trying feel significant, trying to feel equal, trying to believe that my purpose was more than just, be half of something else and deliver the packages, the kids, to some individual so that they can glorify themselves.
