“There. How’s that?” Mike asked gesturing to Harvey expectantly. Harvey eyed the mangled bow tie for a moment before looking away in barely concealed embarrassment.
“How do you even button your shirt in the morning?” He ground out rubbing his eyes.
“Not good then” Mike said slowly before sighing “Look no tuxedo…no bowtie how is that not clear?”
The car began to pull into the slip lane and Harvey knew within a few moments he would have to appear dapper beside what looked like a lost prom date. He reached over pushing Mike’s right shoulder so his torso turned towards him then untied the bowtie with one brisk tug. He straightened Mike’s collar, his fingertips accidently brushing lightly against his neck. Quashing the feeling before it reached the surface he took the two ends of the tie and set to work fixing them.
“There are three things all men should know how to do” Harvey spoke as he carefully folded and turned the fabric “and one of them is tying a bowtie”
“What are the other two?” Mike asked as Harvey pulled fabric into shape and straightened it so it sat up proudly against Mike’s neck.
“I’ll tell you when you’re a man.” Harvey said opening his car door and stepping out.
