I will never not reblog the incredible creator of Middle-Earth
Mr. Tolkien sir, we could be absolutely lost without you.
We take our hats off to you good sir
*gives this to Sherlock fanchildren and backs away sloooowly, making no sudden movements*
like tossing red meat to a pack of starving, rabid wolves. Enjoy, children.
I never understood the appeal, personally.
Didn’t you hear? Smart is the new sexy.
While people wait for a proper transcript from David Salo, the awesome people at Elendilion and this Hungarian Tolkien forum have proposed a few Middle Earth language translations. Here are some of the mentioned Khuzdul:
Atkât! = Silence!
~ Another proposed word is Shazara! (also “Silence!”) But that didn’t seem to fit when I listened back to it.
Du Bekâr! = To arms!
Ifridî bekâr! = Ready weapons!
I couldn’t find the other mentioned Khuzdul words (or they didn’t sound quite right to me), so only 4 GIFs, sorry.
You have NO IDEA what this does to me.
So that’s what he was saying. Fascinating it seems to have an amorous effect.
Big Brother

“Thorin will have our hides when we return”
“I know Fili”
“Leave climbing trees for when your arms can reach the branches”
“Yes Fili”
For Fanailea :)
