themadknightuniverse answered:

It’s been a week since everything as calmed down. “The Chicken man situation” as been dealt with. Nacho never left Lalo’s side when the men sent to kill Lalo arrived. He confessed all he has done, far before they arrived in Mexico. They had that thing growing between them fast since they met, and after turning around each other for a stupid amount of days, they just gave in to the pull.

It was all addictive, the presence of each other clouding their mind, until, the day before Lalo gets arrested, Nacho just can’t keep lying and he tells Lalo everything. Yes, even what he did to Hector. Lalo is pissed, of course, but when it cames to Nacho, everything goes against his better judgement. He can hear his tio’s voice telling him this is all a mistake, that you can’t trust someone outside of the family, that a liar will always be a liar. But still, as he lays down in the uncomfortable bed in his cell, phone against his ear, Nacho’s soft voice telling him how things are going, both of them avoiding the elephant in the room, and Lalo can’t help but feel that pull. He misses Nacho and it’s barely been more than a day since he’s here.

The day he comes out of jail, and Nacho is there to pick him up, the first thing he does when he sits in the Javelin is to kiss Nacho breathless. He made his choice. He never experienced anything like what he got with Nacho. He will risk it all. If Nacho confessed, it surely means he wants to do better, he wants them to start on a new ground. Together, they plan everything to keep both their families safe, and put an end to Fring’s revenge.

And here they are, one week after all of it. Nacho is sitting in the library, doing something he rarely took the time to do, reading. Lalo’s library is full of very different kinds of books. Encyclopedia, novels, music sheets, poems,… Nacho took a liking to pick a random one and give it a try. Since he started doing this, he feels like he’s starting to really letting go, to relax.

Lalo enters the room that day. He usually lets him reading alone, understanding it was Nacho’s moment of peace. He would join him sometimes in comfortable silence to read, the both of them on different seats in the room. But today Lalo walks up to Nacho’s seat and stands there until Nacho looks up at him.

Lalo asks about what he’s reading, beat around the bush, until Nacho asks him what he wants, and Lalo just drops to a knee, taking a little box out of his pant’s pocket. Nacho’s brain goes blank before rushing with thoughts, his heart beating so so fast. Lalo opens the little box, and of course, it’s a golden ring, plain, simple.

“I do forgive you but I can’t forget what you’ve done. If you accept this, there will be no more stab in the back, no more lies. I will not allow it anymore. If you wear this ring, it would be a promise.” Lalo takes Nacho’s hand in his, holding it carefully, thumb stroking the back of his hand. “Will you stay by my side?”

Nacho looks at Lalo, eyes jumping all over Lalo’s features, taking in his seriousness, so unusual, and the affection oh so clear in his eyes. And Nacho tears up, because it was one thing to know Lalo forgave him, like he already told him multiple times, every time Nacho asked if he truly did. But it was something else to have Lalo asking him to stay by his side forever despite what he did to his family. The trust and love is just so raw. He never had been loved like that ever. Nacho says yes, and Lalo takes the ring out of the box to slip it on Nacho’s left ring finger.

They kiss, they hug, holding each other close, Nacho sitting on the edge of his seat, Lalo on his knees on the ground. And Lalo never has been loved so much before either.

Lalo is ecstatic the following days. He plans a trip for them both, every time Nacho is taking some time alone, or when he’s still asleep. Three days later he simply tell Nacho to prepare his luggage, and Nacho is absolutely lost and baffled but Lalo is so happy and enthusiastic, he follows him on the mysterious trip blindly. He promised to stay by his side after all.

My head canon is that he lied about that particular thing. His whole tirade was lies mixed with truth and he knows he’s about to die and he knows it will hurt them to say that about Lalo so he hurts them with reckless abandon knowing Lalo will never hear it (because to him Lalos is already dead) and no-one is going to question whether he was telling the truth.

lacho nachos feelings were complicated i dont think he wanted to kill Lalo if he could have left without repercussions he would have he wouldnt have killed lalo out of spite he kills as a function of nessecity not of spite nacho varga ignacio nacho varga

every week ted lasso is consistently like “the villains are not people they are the constructs, cultures, and mindsets we fall victim to, these intangible villains are not who we are but we also do things we must be held accountable for while under the influence of these antagonistic forces of vengeance and vanity and insecurity and retribution and toxic masculinity and silence and mistrust, and if you break through all of that noise to instead choose radical empathy you will become a fundamentally better and more loving, forgiving, person capable of real happiness. except for rupert. he’s the fucking worst.”

and they’re fucking right.
