* Arthur wants to keep your relationship on the down low. Not because he’s ashamed of you - no, never. He’s ashamed of you being seen with him. He also knows that the other camp members are going to talk.
* You assure him over and over again that you’re not ashamed of him. That you want to be with him.
*Each kiss you give him is an affirmation of your love. Every time you stroke his cheek or his hand. This man needs all the affirmation in the world - and you give it to him. You’ll give it to him every day if need be.
*You start off with spontaneously grabbing his hand whenever you feel like it and then releasing it as soon as he realizes what you’re doing. This always takes him by surprise - his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
*Each time, you increase the amount of time you hold his hand until it becomes normal to him. When you’re in public, you’ll grab onto his arm or hold his hand. He blushes a rosy hue each and every time.
*At the campfire, you’ll brush your leg against his. Sometimes, if he’s feeling bold, he’ll brush against you in return. Charles notices but says nothing. He’s a good bro.
* You like to rest your hand on his thigh. Sometimes, you’ll massage the muscles underneath or run your fingernails over them till he has to suppress a shiver. He always makes the quietest of whines. He is in two minds about it: He hates that he gives you such a reaction, but he doesn’t want you to stop either.
* When you’re drunk, you are sometimes very affectionate. You’ll wrap your arms around his neck and smash your lips to his. Sometimes, you will dramatically fall into his lap and ask him to hold you. You could have sworn you have pinched his ass before. Arthur is usually a little embarrassed, but he also finds it rather endearing. He knows you would stop anything he didn’t want you to do and that you wouldn’t ever go too far anyway. He knows that drunk feelings are often true feelings.
* You’ve never seen him as drunk as he was with Lenny - but you’ve heard about it. When he’s drunk, he’s openly affectionate with you. He’ll put an arm around your waist and lay your head on your shoulder. He’ll stare at you for long periods before getting up and pepper your face with kisses.
* The weirdest thing you’ve seen him do: You were laughing with Uncle by the fire. Arthur was hovering in the corner until Uncle’s story was finished. He then wandered to you before giving you a very gentlemanly bow, offering his hand and said,
“ My dear lady/gentleman, would you please accompany me to my tent so that we may commence snuggling?”.
* You almost laughed in his face. It was so unexpected. He had decided to imitate some of Josiah Trelawny’s accent and mannerisms hoping to charm you. However, you saw the look in his eyes and nodded before saying in your own impression of Trelawny,
“My darling Arthur, I would very much love to accompany you for snuggles.”.
With that, you took Arthur’s arm, leaving a bewildered Uncle behind.
* Once in bed, you held him in one of his favorite positions - head on chest, fingers combing through his hair. Before going to sleep, you told him that he never needed to put on an act around you. He could simply ask or hint about what he wanted. He didn’t say anything, but you did notice him asking for affection more often.
*You, of course, always give him what he needs.
