I just really, really need Hannibal to go on as a TV show. I can’t believe svu is going strong after a bazillion years and hannibal which is new and yeah ok a little hardcore but still innovative in it’s own way is shaky in terms of weather it’s going to be renewed. Come on now. The writer knows what he’s doing for the first 7 seasons. You know who last planned that far ahead with a show like this? Eric Kripke. and how did that turn out for the first 5 seasons? FUCKING EPIC (and then you know it’s slightly less good now but still has good episodes every now and then).
Second - spirk. After playing the video game I’ve come to realize that spirk in jj abrams world is just never going to be spirk in TOS. I had sort of hopes that Zac and Chris would have broments on screen. I didn’t expect that it would be the kind of ridiculous chemistry going on between Shatner and Nimoy because i mean lets be realistic here. Like the way kirk looks at spock like he just wants to be with him forever and touches him ALL THE TIME and takes him with him everywhere and Spocks insanely loyal and has eyes for pretty much no woman, and breaks his vulcan stoicism multiple times for kirk alone, is overly protective of him. Buuuuuut i think if anything there seems to be a smidgen lacking about zacxchris even if you wanna stray closer to the heterosexual side of things (notice that i didn’t say canon? cause if it was closer to the canon well yeah).
Spock just seems to lack that hint of playfulness Nimoy seemed to get. He’d deliver these lines but he’d always have this undertone of sass or a twinkle in his eye as he said them. That was the genius of Spock and Kirk they knew who they each were deep inside away from the job. Whereas Zack’s Spock is just a little less on the ‘i’m being sarcastic’ side of things.
Also i hate to say it but it’s Uhura as well. I’m not a spockxuhura hater peeps. When i saw the star trek movie for the first time i was stoked that spock got the girl cause he was the smart cool one and the badboy adventurer didn’t get the girl for once. And uhura is so awesome and intelligent and badass. But with her there she’s the one Spock leans towards in times of need. She understands him. She’s there for him and kirk stays out of the way of that (like a good friend should of coarse) but Kirk was all those things to Spock in TOS.
I’m kind of ok with it. Like i said i had hopes but i love JJ and his work so much and he always tells stories i love to watch anyway. I just hope they don’t play it off like 'yeah this friendship is really something else’ when it’s really something normal. Like not even besties. Just good friends.
Also the Star Trek game was awesome. Peace out.
