I very much like the whole “that man is so unnerving I really can’t stand him” but Nacho is still the one who ends up initiating the kiss when Lalo is especially annoying again, to shut him up or something, and he just goes weak at the knees, gasping in the kiss and everything and then he’s doomed

Okay so first off I will probably never be over how meaningful Lalo falling asleep next to Nacho is on a textual level.
But then there’s also the meta level, which would have served as perfect foreshadowing for the season finale.
The Gilliverse has a history with framing people in the passenger’s seat as not being in full control of their lives. But Lalo? He took it one step further and literally fell asleep at the wheel.
What’s more is someone on Reddit pointed out that when Nacho brings them out something to drink Lalo doesn’t wait for Nacho to drink first to make sure it’s not poisoned. He fully fully trusts Nacho at this point. Bringing him to his home should be the most obvious indicator of that but these more subtle hints are delightful.
i just love pointing this out: as we all know from the man the myth thomas schnauz, this conversation was supposed to lead into this scene. the “business” lalo was “taking care of” was an intimate dinner party with nacho and his girlfriends.
