It's really saddening that people would "delete and purge" instead of living the LJ just stay up (or at least making a mirror LJ on dreamwidth). Hundreds of arts were lost when there was the massive moving out of LJ! I didn't repost the "in the sand" art because you likely already have it (I remember an ask where you were talking about it?).

Thank you so, so much. Yeah it makes me sad to see artists purge anywhere though I suppose they had thier reasons. I’m so glad you saved some and now they’re here all in one place 💖 they’re so wonderful. I do have the sand one! Low key my fave.

Ok so Ive been digging around and I THINK this might also be a juneinblue but I’m not 100% sure. The style seems right and it LOOKS to have originated on thier journal but wow gang wow. I adore thier style, thier use of colour, the shapes I can see in the faces 😍 as a profesh artist I’m just wildly impressed and so sad they blew thier cache on the way out. I hope I find more in my meandering but this really seems to be it. Given I’ve gone on a few hunts and never found more than the sensational healing in the sand artwork it’s still pretty special to get a name and 3 other works out of tonights impromptu gaunt through Tumblr town.

So I found out about spirk at like 1:30/close to 2am last night and sleeping gang? Sleeping was extremely hard because my brain was just running around between 'oh my god oh my god it's canon it's really canon. I would like to begin by thanking the academy but what if it's a dumb punchline or joke let's be real that will probably be all that's mentioned about it ugh that's not a payoff though I don't know exactly what I expect except I do want spirk in strange new worlds even tho in discovery there was that thing where she was like reach for people and we were like it's spirk and then it turned out it was the romulans like gah I'm going insane.'

@speedygal Ah ok so in Unification in season 3 of discovery when they go to Ni'Var they replay an edited version of Michaels final words to Spock, while she’s internalizing the fact that he unified the Romulans and vulans, saying “there’s a galaxy of people out there who will reach for you…you have to let them…reach for them” implying that that the 'them’ was about the Romulans not Kirk. So though you are right, and thank you for the link the extra info was awesome and validating, I guess it felt like the show had kind of made that final moment about the Romulans not about Kirk. But also it didn’t undo what was done previously so *shrugs* I guess it wasn’t bait???

This deleted scene from Return to Tomorrow (TOS 2x22) is going to kill me

  • the solidarity between Dr. Mulhall and Nurse Chapel like, “lol, Spock’s just bad at feelings sometimes; we wouldn’t be able to explain it. And hey, that’s the captain’s job anyway.”

  • the earnestness in Kirk’s eyes, the pure yearning

  • the way he pauses to glance at Spock’s mouth after he says “someone”

  • Uhura in the background very obviously eavesdropping - she turns towards them when they start talking, and then away again when they stop (and she even gives a lil head tilt after Kirk’s bit)

  • Spock trying to use logic like, “Oh well since Sargon thought it was a good idea, sure, I’ll consider having a deep, undying love that transcends time, space, life, and death.” *makes intense eye contact*

  • Kirk’s sort of resigned wistfulness as he gets back to work
