Hating on the actress/hate mail - not cool. She’s doing her job. Don’t hate the player. Hate the game.

Hating on the new ship - totally normal.

I find it funny that anyone is surprised or outraged by this fan reaction. We have to put up with incessant heteronormativity especially when the characters have such incredible chemistry we’re gonna be pissed about it. We’re gonna chuck a fit about it. We’ll probably hate the character. Live with it.

I would like to reiterate however - hate mail, messages etc to the actress or misha or whatever is stupid and wrong. Even sending hate mail to the writers, I suppose, is bad. It’s their world. They know how we feel about it. If they want to go on messing with our emotions and ignoring amazing possibilities for the hell of it then fine. A relationship like the one we want would be easy to handle badly anyway so maybe they’re saving us from ourselves.

Whatever. If peeps wanna hate the situation/hate the character, then let them hate and just stay the hell out of their way if you don’t agree.

You know I’m not so secretly impressed at the sheer level of my shipping and everyone else’s shipping of these two. I mean their chemistry must be off the charts when you think about it. Normally we ship characters from TV shows or games right? Sometimes books. Which include hours of character building, multiple fascinating situations and implications but these two?! Well shit we probably got a grand total of 10-15 minutes with them actually in the same shot together and and extra 5 or so minutes where they mention eachother and in spite of that the ship is STRONG with these two. I mean I ship them harder then destiel right now and my destiel is my otp 5eva. I ship them harder then I ever shipped sterek and sterek is adorable. Closest I ever came to shipping a movie ship this hard was Cheric/fassavoy/mcbender and I wrote like 2 fics for those guys and was done. The pacific rim world is huge and their characters have a rich history not expressed explicitly in the movie but still. I’m just very impressed.

No Destiel Followup

Look it’s not like I really, really expected destiel to happen, i had hopes but no expectations and it’s just that lately WHENEVER the writers give one of the boys a romantic interest that chick is written terribly and is nothing but an extension of Dean and Sam with qualities that forward their growth instead of being interesting and dynamic in their own right.

I will say that meg was a tiny exception to that rule but i never liked meg as cas’s romanic interest anyway (She killed all of John’s friends, was a key player in bringing down John himself, she led the attack that killed Jo and Ellen and has knocked off countless people in a bid to get what she wants. So fuck her forever she doesn’t deserve Castiel).  

That’s why i’m cracking the shits. They fucking better get this right that’s all i’m saying.

It will be lined and coloured, I will draw up to 2 characters (maybe three, its negotiable) with simple or no background.

I will not draw rape, abuse, drug usage/fallout or extreme violence, would rather not draw machinery, images with excessive detail, original characters or super hardcore explicit sex scenes. But like I said I am opening to discuss bending some of these rules.

Teasing and winking is all in good fun, but let’s face it, we have long passed those days, and that relationship has become one of the central focuses of the show. When that happens, yes, there IS going to be certain expectations for the writers to follow through, and it’s not because we’re spoiled children holding out our hands, but because that’s simply how storytelling works. After a certain amount of tension has been built up, after you’ve crossed a certain line, it’s no longer a joke. It becomes basic dot-connecting in the literary structural sense. So, if that’s not where they’re intending to go, I’d like to use a phrase the Destiel fandom has become very fond of in the past year (pardon the language):

Either shit, or get off the pot.

I dunno. I can live on sexual tension for years. I’m like a sexual tension camel.

All joking aside i’m just worried that if they did make destiel canon they would ruin it. They would ruin Dean. I say Dean because Castiel’s love for Dean has never been disputed. If Cas said ‘i love dean’ we’d be all like 'yeah we know’ but for Dean to say it or act on it is MASSIVE. I’m afraid that the writers would just say 'well dean’s gay now how about that *shrugs*’ when it would HAVE to be more complicated then that with Dean. Firstly Castiel is not technically a guy he’s in a guy but he’s a genderless angelic being. Secondly Dean as a character obviously did not set out being gay. I don’t know if these writers could pull it off. It would be so difficult to handle it correctly and maintain the character that Dean is. It would take a great deal of creative cleverness to not fall into cliche’s. Even on my very best day i couldn’t write a Dean that was Dean and in a relationship with Cas within the confines of the tv show world. I mean yeah they have been making moves in that direction but they’ve also made moves to say Dean might be gay and that annoys me. At the most Dean would have to be bi (and tv show runners in general are so fond of going 'gay’ or 'straight’ and nothing in between) 

More importantly then that Castiel is special, Castiel is different, Castiel is not a man. 

I find it difficult to articulate why i don’t want canon destiel except that i don’t believe they can pull it off in a believable fashion. If they can pull it off in a believable fashion then more power to them and oh god yes let them have at it but i don’t believe they can.   

And that’s really, honestly nothing against the writers i swear. i like thier style. i love thier style but to pull destiel off they’d have to take it to a level that i’ve yet to see on most tv shows. i cant think of anything like destiel off the top of my head done well.
