Garak and Julian flirting on main
An interesting thing about this scene is that this is the Bashir Changeling here. He’s acting differently from how Julian would normally behave, but he does so in a way that turns Garak on. I can’t help but wonder if this was how the Changeling wasn’t caught as a fake. He acted in ways that were abnormal for Julian, but exactly what other people wanted to see. It would explain why O’Brien found him easier to get along with. He was acting as a version of Julian that O’Brien would’ve wanted.
I love this flirting moment, but I thought it was interesting to point out. It’s also kinda sad to think that a flawed person could be easily replaced by a copy who acted like a version of them who lacked those flaws, adapting it to each individual he interacts with. Nobody noticed the Changeling, not because there weren’t clues, but because it showed them what they wanted to see.
Trying to decide what colouring style I like/want most for this and I can’t decide so this is kind of a wip.
This illustration was inspired by @almaasi and thier amazing fic Little Accomplishments performed expertly by Alexander Siddig and Andrew Robinson ( https://youtu.be/3Tq8zaSObWU). It’s so romantic I’m still reeling.
Not-so-bonus I decided when I was essentially done these outfits should definitely be full length outfits and when i sketched over I was like god fucking damn it. Should have done this at the start:
Your honour I submit that it is in fact love.
Today I was listening to Garashir fanwork Little Achievements ( https://youtu.be/3Tq8zaSObWU) by @almaasi and I don’t know if you heard PERFORMED BY ALEXANDER SIDDIG AND ANDREW ROBINSON. It was SO ROMANTIC AND BEAUTIFUL and gave me all the old married couple vibes and I died but came back with a violent need to draw them as such.
(Edit: this is not a flex but Alexander Siddig liked this on Twitter because of course he did because he believes in love)
Little Achievements
A 20-minute Garashir play written and directed by me (@almaasi), performed live during the Sid City Social Club in August 2020.
Starring Alexander Siddig as Dr. Julian Bashir, and Andrew Robinson as Elim Garak, reprising their roles 20 years after ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’ ended.
Also starring
Irena Komunjer (@syaunei) as Dr. Renna Illa, Randy Roy as Colonel Randy, and Prerna as The Computer.
It’s queer, folks. Everyone involved had a great time and it shows. Enjoy.
