Oh man every ep makes me wanna watch the next ep more I’m just chomping at the bit. Ps when Dorian flipped the car I was a lil disappointed at everyone else’s reaction. I was on my couch like ‘WHAT THE FUCK?! HE CAN FLIP CARS?! That’s awesome!!!!’ And then the camera pans back to John and Stall and they’re like 'huh. Did not know that he could do that. Spose those clones are dead then. Anyway what where we saying?’
*lornrocks!!!! You lil beauty you* So I’m 3 episodes into Almost Human and I’m having quite a bit of fun with it. The ship is strong with Dorian and John and is made all the funnier by the wildly inappropriate statements and actions Dorian can get away with under the context of robot behaviour aka the scanning of the testicles and the heating of the coffee. The kind of conversations they have are refreshing as well (it’s nice to get a little light existentialism between jokes). Dorian as a robot is a delight, I was worried there’d be a spock or data syndrome but Dorian is plenty emotional while being 100% robotic. The way they use technology to hinder the detective process is really cool and unexpected. I really hope they do something with Dorian getting really mad/really happy/ damaged memory robotic trope buiz. I think they’ve got a really good opportunity here to mess with human dynamics and I hope they take advantage of that. It’s cheese-tastic and I wouldn’t call it high brow by any means, Karl can be a smidgen wooden (which is annoying occasionally cause he’s so much better then that. Maybe he just does better with richer characters. Or maybe the southern/old English is just more believable then whatever version of the American accent he’s rocking right now) having said that it is a really good time and manages to be different from most futuristic shows. Can’t wait to see more.
