Don’t know what this is all about. Have only seen the gifset. Busy being the best sister in the world and waiting for my brother to watch the episode and nearly have conniptions over it and sketching this up above as a way to calm the pain of my waiting with such a ludicrously ridiculously up my alley story waiting clearly less then 24 hours away. I - I just. I just need to know. But imma wait. Cause i’m awesome.

EDIT: Seen it now! Might comment on it on another post.

Prisoners Movie *Spoiler*

So….let me get this straight. There’s a woman and a man whose son dies of cancer. Driven insane by grief they decide to wage ‘a war on god’. They do this by kidnapping children, waiting for the parents to 'turn into demons’ (see: go crazy) while torturing their children by drugging them/having snakes bite them and forcing them to do unsolvable mazes (on paper) with the promise of freedom as a reward and then kill parents and the child (to get back at god for killing their kid). But some children escape. One of those children, a boy, acts out the traumas that woman and man put him through because he thinks if he can 'solve the maze’ he can escape the trauma.

Enter detective Loki. Having obviously been sexually abused as a child he hunts tirelessly for the person who has kidnapped two children recently. He finds this boy who escaped, now a young man, and because of all the evidence in his house of an unsound mind/bloodied children’s clothing in boxes (later to be revealed as being pigs blood), mazes drawn all over his walls he decides this boy did it. After interrogating him the boy shoots himself.

The first child the man and wife stole/tortured/mentally damaged till he only retained the thought pattern of a 10 year old is stolen by the father of the girl who had currently gone missing.

Uhhh i think i’ll try and finish this train of thought in the morning.

The story of Frigga being the one closest to Loki, the one that bonded best with him and shared the strongest relationship really spoke depths to me. I feel like in a way out of the whole family he seemed to take the death the hardest. I imagined Loki would have screamed and cried bloody murder, scratching at the wall trying to get out, pacing and wounding his feet. By the time Thor came to see him hours later I figured he would have tired himself out.

Loki *THOR 2 SPOILERS*

So why does everyone like Loki exactly? I mean I quite liked him for a moment when it looked like he maybe might be good but then he turned around and wasn’t I mean I’m 80% fed up with him. You’d think after all this time he maybe might have learned something maybe. Evidently he did not. I did feel a bit sorry for him in the first one cause he found out a pretty nasty truth about his lineage in an unpleasant way and instead of being able to handle it like a human and have a mental break down he had one on a god style level.

But after that movie after movie with this one incessant need to rule it’s getting a little like he’s got a one note story. It would have been nice if they’d given him a more dynamic one. Or given him a greater purpose for why he wanted to rule so badly. The story in this one was quasi dynamic and cool, it would have been cooler if he’d been in it longer and this journey from cell to death which was funny and engaging and cool and actually made you care more about him had lasted longer, they had let him build to it. He’s a really good actor he could have made a great build of it. The stuff with his mum was great. His mum was great - what a badass.

The Last of Us Review *spoiler-ish*

image

Just finished the video game The Last of Us on PS3. Slightly spoiler-esq review ahead (won’t really ruin it for you if your playing it but mentions how I felt about the games ending without details).

The Last of Us is a truly epic game on so many levels. I actually feel bad for people that don’t game because this beautiful/intricate/morally conflicted/heartfelt/scary as hell game is the complete package. It’s a lot like The Walking Dead with two stunningly brilliant leads - a broken man in a post zombie apocalypse world and a gritty 14 year old girl who is equal parts innocent and ruthless. The characters are beautifully acted by their extremely talented animators and so many times the characters show don’t tell what they’re thinking/ what they plan to do. It makes you debate the actions you take in the game, contains themes which leave you reeling (all handled carefully and thoughtfully) and the ending which at first doesn’t impact hard later leaves you debating the ramifications for hours. This is the best game I have played in years. If you rarely pick up a controller pick it up for this. It is EPIC.

1 million stars.
